Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar sits along Philadelphia’s waterfront at 325 N Christopher Columbus Blvd, offering a full-service dining experience that blends Japanese steakhouse fare with sushi selections. The restaurant’s unassuming entrance can catch you off guard, but once inside, the space opens up with a surprisingly welcoming vibe and stunning views that add a special touch to the meal.

Inside, the atmosphere strikes a balance between lively and relaxed. It’s the kind of place where groups—whether family gatherings, church groups, or casual friends—can congregate around hibachi grills and enjoy entertaining chefs who add a playful edge to the dining experience. The teppanyaki setup invites engagement, making it more than just a meal but also a shared event.

The menu offers a variety of well-prepared Japanese staples like shrimp tempura, honey teriyaki wings, and a range of hibachi combinations featuring steak, chicken, shrimp, and salmon. Notable dishes like the Hibachi Deluxe and New York Steak & Shrimp provide hearty options for those looking to combine surf and turf. Sides and extras, while tasty, tend to be on the pricier side—something to keep in mind when planning your order.

Service tends to be attentive and accommodating, especially for diners with allergies or special dietary needs. Weekends and Sunday afternoons seem to bring a steady crowd, with quicker seating and a relaxed energy that suits families and casual diners.

This spot works well for those looking to enjoy a sit-down meal with a bit of flair, especially if you appreciate a view and the added entertainment of a skilled hibachi chef. While it’s a sizable restaurant, the welcoming environment and thoughtful service keep it feeling accessible rather than overrun.

Came here 2 times so far & I will definitely be back. My first time I came with a group of sisters from my church. We had a good server & a good chef. We got a bunch of things. Shrimp and chicken and steak and salmon teriyaki. The extras are a bit expensive. It’s like $12 for a side of shrimp. $10 for extra rice. & like $10 for extra chicken. We came on a Sunday so we were able to get the special & paid like $20 for our meals not including the extras. The second time I came on a Saturday with a friend. We came as soon as the opened so we were able to get the early bird special that I believe ends at 6:15. We ordered a lot of items. Salmon, scallops, shrimp, chicken, steak. We also order honey teriyaki wings which were sooooo good! It comes with 6 wing dings for maybe $12. Each time we got fried rice, veggies & a salad. They charge $3 extra for just broccoli. I recommend just picking the onions & zucchini out & eating just the broccoli instead of paying extra. They charge gratuity. Idk what percentage it is, but it doesn’t matter the party size, they charge it.
